The mission of the Edmundian Association at Vancouver College is to lead the community in fostering a faith community whose members seek to live the Gospel in their daily lives.
This is expressed in:
- common worship - grade-level and school-wide liturgies;
- efforts at sharing the Gospel with others through direct service;
- walking with members of the community in times of difficulty;
- working towards an inclusive community which encourages and fosters the sharing of faith from many perspectives and traditions;
- a growing sense of ministry and service which is integrated with the students' learning experiences;
- the respect and concern for persons and the quality of relationships which exist;
- efforts at enriching humanity and the world through a growing awareness of the needs of the human community and responding to those needs.
The Edmundians are composed of students between grades 9-12 who are committed to an ethic of care and justice. By offering excellence in academics, dress code, behavior, conduct and service, the Edmundians work to provide an environment in which students can flourish, grow and experience leadership and competence for creating a community of learners which is constructive, empowering, just and diverse.
The primary commitments of the Edmundians: prayer, service to the Vancouver College community (particularly the marginalized in our midst), education about peacemaking and social justice, hospitality to people of diverse backgrounds and community involvement. Over the years our community has branched further into the Social Justice Club and the One World One Heart Social Justice Conference held in April each year in conjunction with the Social Justice Club at Little Flower Academy.
The Edmundians, in fulfillment of our Mission Statement and in the interest of building and maintaining a genuine sense of community and "love of neighbour," challenge and encourage all members of the Vancouver College to be sensitive and rejoice in our diversity. We strive to move beyond racism, sexism, and all other irrational prejudices, realizing that both our words and our silence; our actions as well as our inaction, have the power to hurt or heal. We encourage students of diverse cultures and faiths to recognize and share God's presence in each other, and to respond to God in prayer, liturgy, and service.

The Junior Edmundians are a group of Grade 9 students committed to the philosophy and mission statement of the Edmundians of Vancouver College. Service, in a variety of ways, to the community is the primary objective of the Junior Edmundians.
In 2007-08 the Juniors will be working at developing their ministry at Vancouver College and coordinating further with the Senior Edmundians.

The Social Justice Club - Ms. Prescott, Moderator / Student Director: TBA
One of the Essential Elements of Catholic Education at Vancouver College is to stand in solidarity with those marginalized by poverty and injustice. With this mission in mind, the student overseas outreach program was organized to place faith in action and make it a reality in our school community. This is expressed now through the Los Embajadores Pilgrimage to Mexico every July; the archdiocesan-wide "One World One Heart" Human Rights Conference; and other local service projects - some through the Edmundians, but not exclusive to members of the Edmundian Society.
The student overseas outreach program will inform the student body and the school community about the needs of other societies. With large success last year in raising student awareness and funds for the program, the Social Justice Club will continue with this program in hopes of initiating further involvement by the student body at Vancouver College. You do not have to be an Edmundian to belong to the Social Justice Club. Its original mandate fit within the constitution of the Edmundians but it has since grown beyond these particular articles. The Edmundians, however, still have a "social justice component" to their work.
"One World, One Heart 2010 Human Rights Conference" will take place in April 2010 at Little Flower Academy or Vancouver College. With many Catholic Schools around Greater Vancouver participating, organizers from VC and LFA are working hard in planning and organizing the conference.
